Today, March 8th, is officially International Women’s Day where we celebrate all women globally. As we continue to explore the paths of Teads women, our next category is Team Players. The women named Team Players are the hardworking ladies who constantly put the team and business first.
Our first Team Player is Darija Jovanovic. A member of the Operations team in Canada!
1. Tell us about your journey to, and within, Teads
I studied Digital Enterprise Management at the University of Toronto which lead me to start my career in the digital advertising industry at Olive Media, a Canadian owned and operated a network. The company gave me a great sense of the digital landscape by allowing me to work with display, video, native, programmatic and direct response. During my 3.5 years at Olive I embraced the opportunity for growth and transitioned from an intern to an Account Manager.
In October 2016, I was the fourth member to join the Teads Toronto team as an Account Manager. At the time, I was responsible for all the accounts in Canada, helping translate and form new localized processes, and onboarding first-time clients within the Toronto market. I was lucky to have the opportunity to help grow the Canadian market and to see the team almost double. In January 2018 I transitioned into a new role of Associate Director of Account Management in Canada.
2. What does being a team player means to you?
To me, being a team player means working closely internally to ensure that we meet clients’ expectations while prioritizing Teads’ internal goals. This includes listening, absorbing information and balancing options to find the best solution.
3. What woman inspires you and why?
My biggest inspiration would have to be my mom, she taught me to stay true to myself and always speak my mind. I feel like we are surrounded by so many inspiring women, who push us to do more every day and pave the way for a better future.
4. If you could go back and give your teenage self advice for the future what would it be?
Take risks and set your bar high. There is no limit to what you can achieve with strong will and persistence.
5. What is the most inspiring piece of advice you ever received?
One piece of advice that resonates with me is not to underestimate my own abilities. This has inspired me to expand my boundaries and take on new challenges.
6. Within the next year, what do you wish to accomplish?
I hope to continue to drive the growth of the Canadian market, while also focusing on learning more within my new role and gaining new leadership skills. Watching the incredible growth of Teads year over year and seeing our roadmap for 2018 and beyond inspires me to want to accomplish more for myself as well as continue to contribute to the success of Teads.
7. What is your biggest wish and hope for the next generation of successful women?
In our generation, women have been incredibly successful in pushing boundaries and taking on roles that were previously unattainable/out of reach. I wish for the next generation to be empowered to continue building their own path and to push the boundaries even further.
